The Intro...
2006 was a great year for DulceSky, they released their long-planned debut "Lands" to rave reviews (Including a Top in Jack Rabid's prestigious Top 40 picks - Big Take Over Magazine) and great charting in the college radio circuit. However, despite the band's efforts with planning the record, it fell short of exploding to its full potential of exposure due to a limited budget. Given the state of the ever changing record industry and the fragile economy, the band has decided to implement a plan that will give fans and other interested parties an opportunity to be a part of their success. Rather than raising money with nothing in return to support their upcoming release "Invisible Empire", DulceSky is offering fans and other interested parties an opportunity to invest in a low-risk stock program that would energize the production and promotion of the album. "Invisible Empire", The Album, The Concept... Inspired mainly by the book 1984 and movies in the vein of The Matrix, "Invisible Empire" is a musical Sci-Fi experience, with stories of breaking social conditioning, secret groups trying to control the masses through sophisticated methods, and the human realization that there's more to life than meets the eye, all wrapped-up in a futuristic atmosphere. DulceSky hopes this interesting concept and different approach will make the band standout in the sea of independent releases that come out each month. The Plan... In order to raise money for the release of the album, the band has decided to open a "Percentage of Future Earnings" to fans and other interested parties divided into 1,000 shares at $25 each. The shares purchased will be used by Nueve Music (DulceSky's record label) to only be used in behalf of DulceSky and their album "Invisible Empire". The $25,000 will be drawn upon as needed to fund each stage of the campaign. Firstly the recording, mixing and mastering; then the manufacturing of promotional and retail CDs (including artwork design); then the press, radio and TV promotion of the album (including promotional video clips). The Fund will loan the money to Nueve Music and the loan will be repaid as below. The Payback... Dividends will be paid over a 3-year period. For every album sale during that time (both physical and full-album digital bundles) a fixed amount will be returned to the Fund. This will be structured as follows:
*Shares only apply to album (Invisible Empire), physical and digital sales of album, not to royalty of writing rights. Nueve Music will account to the Fund in six-monthly sales periods (January-June and July-December) until the end of 2012 with payment to the Fund within 90 days from the end of each period. The Fund will then distribute the receipts to the shareholders pro rata to the number of units held within 30 days of receiving the payment from Nueve Music. No payment will be made to any shareholder if they are due an amount less than $20 -any such amounts will be carried forward to the next accounting period. Please also note that any profit made by shareholders on their initial investment will carry an individual income tax liability. The Perks... Every shareholder that has purchased 1 stock will get an advanced copy of "Invisible Empire" before it goes out to the public (Your discretion will be appreciated). DulceSky will also provide free guest-list spaces at any of their shows that shareholders wish to attend (although this might have to be on a first-come-first-served basis on some shows as venues often limit the number of slots available on the guest list). A gold package will be available for people that buy 20 stocks ($500) and will include a Deluxe Box-Set with all of DulceSky's releases, a biographic photo-booklet, a dulcesky.com email account,and a copy of "Invisible Empire". A Platinum package will be available for people that buy 40+ stocks, which will include all of the above, plus every DulceSky item available (at the time of delivery) including, T-Shirts, stickers, Mitchell Razon signature drum sticks, etc. Where do I sign up?...
